The Hub at 16 Hospitality - Field to Fork 18th July 2017

On the latest Hub trip, our Rookies had the opportunity to learn about growing, picking and preparing fresh produce.

The Rookies started the day with a tour of Woodlands Farm, which is not far from The Crown, to see the process behind growing lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers. Next, the team made their way to Oliver Kay Produce to find out more about seasonality, the selection process, and the quality of produce they should expect to see.

The Rookies were then challenged to put their new skills to the test, as they were split into groups to prepare and cook their own meal using fresh produce they’d seen during the day before watching a live chocolate-making demonstration.

16 Hospitality’s training programme, The Hub gives our Rookies the opportunity to experience a range of exciting external trips throughout the year as a part of their training.
