Autumn offers staycation-ers a different type of holiday to the sunseekers but one just as relaxing and memorable. As the cooler weather draws in and the leaves start to turn brown, where better to be than the beautiful English countryside?

Because that’s exactly what you get when you come to stay at The Swan. Located in the heart of Tarporley, we have plenty of walking trails and inviting shops in our vicinity which come together to create the perfect autumn day.

We asked our team what they love about autumn staycations in Cheshire, and below is what we’ve picked out.

They’re Cheaper Than Summer

Autumn breaks usually present holidaymakers with a less costly getaway, whether that be considering the cost of local attractions, or the accommodation itself. Due to the autumn months being classed as within off-peak season, you’ll most likely have a little extra spending money to splash out during your time away. That could mean an extra meal out, a fancy bottle of wine (we have a great autumn wine list, just to let you know!) or perhaps a trip to a nearby spa? There are heaps of great options in Cheshire and nearby Shropshire. Plus, there’s always the possibility that you could even go on a longer break for less than what you’d pay during the summertime (now that doesn’t sound too bad, does it?).

Avoid The Busy Crowds

Summer often results in most places worth visiting being crammed with tourists who all apparently had the same idea as you! This can make for a more stressful holiday than you may have anticipated, and indeed wanted. However, when getting away in autumn you’re more likely to avoid the crowds and get the best of all the attractions without the ungodly number of queues! One popular attraction on our doorstep is BeWILDerwood, which does close for the winter but is open right up until the end of October, giving you plenty of opportunity to get a visit in during your autumn staycation in Cheshire.

Fully Immerse Yourself

With the area you’re visiting not being filled with so many people, you can have an experience that is closer to that of the locals during your autumn staycation and can fully indulge in the ‘daily happenings’ of the area. This calmness is unrivalled and being able to feel like you’re in a home from home is a feeling that you won’t want to go away. You’ll be able to source out the non-mainstream attractions, get recommendations from the locals and enjoy the tranquillity of your surroundings as the locals do year-round.

Banish The Post-Summer Blues

We all feel the summer blues, but with an autumn staycation to look forward to you’ll be able to maintain that high and bring it with you into September and October and onwards! Whether you’re a fan of the cooler temperatures that the season brings or not, there’s simply no denying that the colours of nature and the crisp sunny days are to be enjoyed too! The leaves turning from greens to oranges and browns has something therapeutic about it and the countryside is particularly attractive on the eye in the autumn, so why miss out?

Have we convinced you? Great! The Swan at Tarporley is a wonderful destination to enjoy your staycation no matter the season, so why not take a look at our rooms and book an autumn staycation in Cheshire that you’ll remember forever?
